| Beschrijving voorzijde | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, showing the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara with earrings and necklace. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the left field and 'NIUE' appears at the top, with 'ONE DOLLAR' arcing along the right field. The date '2015' is inscribed in the lower field below the portrait, and the engraver's initials 'IRB' appear on the truncation of the bust. The frosted effigy is set against a mirror-polished field consistent with reverse proof treatment. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Niue has operated as a prolific bullion and collector coin issuer since the 1980s, leveraging its status as a self-governing territory in free association with New Zealand to mint under its own authority. The Madonna of Częstochowa series taps directly into the Polish diaspora collector market — Niue issues a significant volume of Polish-themed devotional silver, and these series sell primarily through Polish numismatic distributors rather than through any domestic Niuean channel.
The Częstochowa icon itself dates to at least the 14th century at the Jasna Góra monastery in southern Poland, where it remains. In 1655, Swedish forces besieging the monastery famously failed to take it — an event credited to the icon's intercession and used for centuries to cement its national-religious significance.
