| Obverse description | The shield of the coat of arms of the Republic of Palau occupies the central field, depicting a traditional figure holding a spear amid local fauna and flora, surmounted by a frigate bird above the shield. Eight five-pointed stars arranged in a semicircle surround the shield on either side.
