Obverse description Central field features the shield-shaped coat of arms of the Republic of Palau, depicting a traditional figure holding a trident flanked by a mermaid and aquatic motifs, surmounted by a native canoe. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs above the arms, flanked by eight five-pointed stars, with the series name RAINBOW'S END inscribed on a scroll at the base of the shield.
