The bird stands poised in a dynamic, forward-leaning posture, with wings partially spread, atop a stylised architectural staircase element. A decorative floral motif, referencing the royal bluebell (Wahlenbergia gloriosa), Canberra's floral emblem, appears beneath the bird's feet.
