The NRL dollar series, issued by the Royal Australian Mint as legal tender coloured circulating coins, represents one of the more commercially driven programs in recent Australian coinage — sixteen team releases dropped simultaneously in 2024, each tied to an NRL club. St George Illawarra, formed from the 2000 merger of two of the competition's oldest clubs, brings with it the Dragons' record eleven consecutive premierships from 1956 to 1966, still unmatched in the sport.
