| Obverse description | The sixth and final effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, as designed by Jody Clark, occupies the centre of the obverse, depicting a right-facing draped bust of the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem and a pearl necklace. The legend ELIZABETH II 1952-2022 arcs around the upper field, commemorating her reign, while AUSTRALIA and the date 2024 are inscribed along the right side. The NRL commemorative dollar series, of which this Penrith Panthers issue is part, reflects the Royal Australian Mint's long-running strategy of using the $1 coin as a collectible vehicle — a format that has expanded aggressively since the 1980s. The Panthers themselves are coming off back-to-back premierships in 2021 and 2022, which almost certainly accelerated demand for this particular club's release within the set.
