Additional information

Issued by the Royal Mint to mark the handover of Hong Kong to the People's Republic of China on 1 July 1997, ending 156 years of British colonial administration following the 1984 Sino-British Joint Declaration. The "Version B" designation distinguishes this from a concurrent issue — the two versions differ in their edge lettering or packaging configuration, a distinction the Royal Mint made deliberately to support dual-release collector sets.
