| Obverse description | The obverse bears the coat of arms of the Republic of Palau rendered in high relief at centre, depicting a traditional sailing canoe above a shield containing a figure scene, all within an ornamental frame. The curved legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs above the arms along the upper periphery, flanked on each side by a row of small stars. The inscription RAINBOW'S END appears within the lower portion of the shield, and the denomination 1S is struck in the lower field below the arms. The entire design is struck on a turtle-shaped planchet. |
