| Obverse description | The obverse displays the coat of arms of the Republic of Palau centered within the egg-shaped field, featuring the traditional shield supported by a native canoeist above and two seated figures flanking a central deity holding a trident, with a crescent moon and star above. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper periphery, accompanied by a ring of small stars on either side. Below the arms, the inscription RAINBOW'S END appears within the lower portion of the shield's decorative border. The denomination 1$ is struck in the lower field beneath the coat of arms. The entire design is rendered in high relief on a convex, matte gold surface characteristic of the prooflike finish. |
