| 背面描述 | The reverse depicts a bald eagle in dynamic flight to the left, its wings fully spread and its talons drawn up, rendered with finely detailed featherwork across the body and wings against a broad, open field. The eagle design, based on a drawing by artist Titian Peale and engraved by Christian Gobrecht, conveys a striking sense of naturalism and motion. The circular legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA arcs around the upper periphery, while ONE DOLLAR appears along the lower border, with a small dot separating the two inscriptions. A beaded border frames the entire design. On earlier issues (1836), the reverse field is filled with a constellation of stars, while later issues (1838-1839) feature a plain field. |
