Obverse description Intaglio portrait of King George V in military uniform occupies the right portion of the note within a dark vignette, facing three-quarters left. The central field carries the denomination ONE DOLLAR in a guilloche underprint band, above the legend PROMISES TO PAY THE BEARER ON DEMAND AT SINGAPORE and LOCAL CURRENCY FOR VALUE RECEIVED with the issue date. A large oval watermark space is reserved at left. Chinese and Malay script characters appear along the left and right margins, with ornamental floral corner devices bordering the entire design.

Reverse description The central vignette presents a large Malayan tiger standing in dense tropical undergrowth, rendered in fine intaglio line engraving. An allegorical female head in classical style appears within a circular medallion at left, while numeral 1 counters occupy the upper corners and lower lateral fields. The printer's imprint BRADBURY WILKINSON & CO. LTD. NEW MALDEN ENGLAND runs along the lower border beneath a row of geometric ornamental units.
