The reverse is printed entirely in red and centred on an elaborate intaglio vignette of a Malayan village path lined with tall palm trees, a thatched building to the left, and two figures walking along a sandy track leading toward a calm waterway. The central scene is enclosed within a richly ornate cartouche of scrollwork and engine-turned guilloche panels, with the numeral 1 in tall upright format repeated on both the left and right margins within foliate borders. The printer's imprint appears in small type at the foot of the note. |
