| Obverse description | The Republic of Palau coat of arms occupies the central field, depicted as a shield bearing the figure of a sea deity holding a trident, accompanied by a seated figure, with a star and crescent above, all enclosed within an ornate border. A traditional Palauan canoe (bai) is shown in flight above the shield. Eight five-pointed stars flank the shield on either side.
