| Obverse description | The obverse presents a faithful recreation of the Flowing Hair dollar design first struck in 1794, the earliest silver dollar issued by the United States federal government. The draped bust of Liberty faces right, her flowing hair rendered in fine relief, encircled by fifteen six-pointed stars representing the states that had ratified the Constitution by 1794. The legend LIBERTY appears above in the upper field, with the date 2024 positioned in the lower exergual area. The overall composition reflects the neoclassical aesthetic of the original Robert Scot design, adapted for this commemorative gold issue. |
