Additional information

Palau has operated as a prolific commemorative issuer since the 1990s, licensing its monetary authority to produce collector pieces with no domestic circulation intent whatsoever. This FIFA-licensed issue appeared a full year before the 2010 South Africa tournament — standard practice for the commemorative market, where distribution pipelines require lead time that renders the "commemorative" framing largely nominal.
