The bank title 中華匯業銀行 runs across the upper margin alongside a red serial number, with red chop seals and the branch designation 天津 (Tientsin) at lower left and right. An elaborate geometric interlocking border frames the entire composition. |

| 背面描述 | The reverse is printed in brown over a fine guilloche underprint, with the bank title THE EXCHANGE BANK OF CHINA in a cartouche at the top and a central medallion bearing the denomination 壹圓 within elaborate floral and scrollwork surrounds. Dollar-sign corner panels and the branch name repeated at left and right flank the medallion, beneath which two manuscript signatures appear over the printed titles MANAGER and SUB-MANAGER, with TIENTSIN JAN. 1920 centred below. A ruled panel at foot carries the promise-to-pay legend in English. |
