| 背面描述 | A highly detailed full-colour applied image dominates the field, depicting a yellow-bellied sea snake (Hydrophis platurus) coiled dynamically, its vivid yellow-and-black patterned body rendered in striking naturalistic colour against a dark oceanic background. The head of the snake is shown in close-up facing right, with scales rendered with great precision. To the lower right, small coloured tropical fish and matte silver-finished coral formations provide a marine habitat context. The legend AUSTRALIA'S YELLOW-BELLIED SEA SNAKE arcs across the upper field in bold serif lettering, and the inscription 1oz 999 SILVER appears in the lower exergual area. |

Tuvalu's wildlife coin program, administered through the Perth Mint, has produced dozens of species issues in this format since the early 2000s. The yellow-bellied sea snake (Hydrophis platurus) is the most widely distributed snake on earth — the only species found across the entire Pacific and Indian Oceans simultaneously — yet it almost never appears in numismatic programs, which tend toward charismatic megafauna.
Perth Mint issues of this type typically carried mintages of 5,000 pieces or fewer.
