| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the fourth definitive portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, showing the Queen wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the left rim and NIUE ISLAND along the right rim, both in Latin capitals. The engraver's initials IRB appear beneath the truncation of the bust. The denomination 1 DOLLAR and the date 2017 are inscribed in the lower field, with the silver fineness notation Ag 999 also present on the obverse. The design is struck on a polished proof-quality flan with a beaded inner border framing the entire composition. |
