Obverse description This annular sector-shaped coin features the right-facing diademed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II in the upper left corner, after the Maklouf portrait, set against an intricately engraved field depicting a dynamic apocalyptic scene. A crowned horseman bearing a lance charges rightward on a rearing steed, surrounded by swirling drapery and turbulent compositional elements rendered in high relief with an antiqued finish. The curved arc separating the obverse legend from the pictorial field follows the sector's inner radius. The legend reads NIUE ISLAND · ELIZABETH II · 1 DOLLAR 2012, arranged along the left and upper edges of the sector. The entire design is executed in the antiqued silver style, lending a medieval manuscript quality to the engraving.

Reverse description The reverse of this annular sector coin depicts the First Horseman of the Apocalypse, rendered in vivid polychrome colour application after a medieval illuminated manuscript style. A crowned rider dressed in red robes is shown mounted on a white horse, drawing a bow with an arrow nocked, galloping dynamically to the right across a stylised landscape with coloured banners in red and green below. In the upper right corner, a winged angelic figure descends with a sword. The lower register presents an intricate antiqued silver bas-relief of a multitude of figures, both human and winged, in a tumultuous apocalyptic tableau. The Cyrillic inscription АПОКАЛИПСИС (Apocalypse) appears at the upper left, with the metallic fineness mark Ag 925 below it.
