| Reverse description | The reverse commemorates the bicentennial of the War of 1812, depicting three selectively gold-plated figures rendered in bold relief against a frosted background incorporating a stylized outline map of Canada: at left, a British regular soldier in full uniform carrying a musket; at center, a crouching Indigenous warrior holding a rifle; and at right, a Canadian militia soldier armed with a musket. The commemorative dates 1812 - 2012 appear prominently in the upper center field beneath the arcing legend CANADA DOLLAR. The engraver's initials AB appear in the lower right field, and a beaded inner border frames the entire composition. |
