| Obverse description | Crowned and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, rendered in the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait style. The legend ELIZABETH II arcs along the upper rim, while the denomination 1 DOLLAR and the issuer name FIJI together with the date 2011 appear along the lower rim. The portrait occupies the central field with fine detail in the hair and diadem. The overall design is struck in a mirror-like proof finish against a polished field. |

| Additional information |
Part of a broader Pacific island commemorative program that flooded the collector market in the late 2000s and early 2010s, this piece was produced for Fiji by a European mint-on-demand operator — the island nation itself having no minting facility. Fiji's use of Elizabeth II's effigy on such issues is a residual of its Commonwealth membership, though Fiji was suspended from the Commonwealth in 2006 following Bainimarama's coup and only readmitted in 2014.
The coin saw no circulation in Fiji whatsoever.
