Reverse description A rearing unicorn rendered in high relief and selectively coloured occupies the right half of the field, its golden horn, flowing mane, and tail highlighted in warm colour against the polished silver body. To the left, a heraldic banner bearing a smaller unicorn device and the denomination $1 is displayed in front of a medieval castle set among trees. The entire design is framed by an ornate Celtic knotwork border encircling the full circumference of the coin. The engraver's initials JEM appear on a scroll at the lower centre, accompanied by a stylised runic or decorative script inscription beneath.
