| Obverse description | The obverse of this rectangular silver piece is divided into two distinct registers. The right-hand panel bears the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, diademed and draped, as engraved by Ian Rank-Broadley, with the engraver's initials IRB visible below the truncation. Surrounding the portrait are the legends COOK ISLANDS and ELIZABETH II above, and the denomination 1 DOLLAR below. The left-hand portion of the obverse reproduces a facsimile of a period White Star Line boarding pass for the R.M.S. Titanic, rendered in greyscale with ornate decorative borders, incorporating the inscriptions WHITE STAR LINE, BOARDING PASS, PERMISSION GRANTED TO COME ABOARD, R.M.S. TITANIC, and ISAMY, IMRIE & CO. The lower field carries the coin's technical specifications: Ag .999, 5g, 1912 pcs, 150 x 70mm, and 2019. A certificate of authenticity text appears in small lettering within the right panel, attesting to the legal tender status and fineness of the piece. |
