| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse bears a right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II at age 77, rendered in a bare-headed portrait wearing a necklace and earrings, as designed by Susan Taylor. The legend ELIZABETH II · 2010 arcs along the upper periphery, while the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games logo appears in the field. The portrait presents the Queen in a refined, naturalistic style consistent with the Dora de Pédery-Hunt tradition of Canadian coinage portraiture. |

Part of the RCM's ongoing themed collector series, this issue draws on a solar motif tied to Indigenous artistic traditions — specifically the Haida and broader Northwest Coast visual vocabulary that the Mint has licensed and commissioned repeatedly since the early 2000s. The program was designed explicitly for the gift and collector market rather than circulation, and mintages were capped accordingly.
