The engraver's initials IRB are incuse below the truncation.

背面描述	Central design features a steam locomotive of the Orient Express in motion, depicted in three-quarter view at lower left, with billowing steam clouds filling the mid-field. Behind and above the locomotive, an elaborate composite cityscape merges recognizable landmarks associated with the route's key stops, including Gothic spires and domed mosques, culminating in an Ottoman-style domed complex at right representing Istanbul. A schematic route map is depicted across the upper field, with the city names CALAIS, PARIS, VIENNA, BELGRADE, and ISTANBUL inscribed at their respective points along the line. The legend THE ORIENT EXPRESS arcs along the upper border, and the denomination $1 appears within a decorative scroll cartouche at the bottom of the field. The Pobjoy Mint mark PM is visible at lower centre.
