| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse reproduces in full color a detailed section of Sandro Botticelli's painting 'The Mystic Nativity' (circa 1500-1501), specifically the eighth of fifteen panels in this series. The depicted scene shows the Virgin Mary kneeling in adoration before the Christ Child, rendered in rich blues and reds against the dark interior of a stable, with an ox visible in the foreground. The figures above, draped in green and blue robes, are shown kneeling in devotion in the upper register of the composition. The color reproduction faithfully replicates the Renaissance masterwork's iconography and palette, framed by the rectangular format of the flan. The high-relief minting and applied color process combine to produce a vivid collector presentation. |

Niue has operated as a reliable vehicle for commemorative silver programs since the 1990s, licensing its currency authority to overseas minting operations — in this case almost certainly the New Zealand Mint, which has produced the majority of Niue's collector issues. The "Mystic Nativity" subject references Botticelli's painting of the same name, completed around 1500 and now held at the National Gallery in London. The "8/15" designation marks this as the eighth in a fifteen-piece series, a format common to NZ Mint licensed programs of this period.
