| Beschrijving keerzijde | Full-color reproduction of a detail from Sandro Botticelli's painting 'The Mystic Nativity' (c. 1500–1501), rendered in vibrant polychrome enamel on a rectangular silver planchet. The scene depicts angelic figures descending against a golden background, with characteristic late Gothic and early Renaissance stylistic elements including elongated forms and rich drapery in red and blue. A Greek inscription referencing the apocalyptic vision of the painting appears along the upper border, faithfully echoing the original artwork. This panel constitutes the second of fifteen segments in a series collectively reproducing the full composition of Botticelli's masterpiece. |

Niue's dollar coinage exists almost entirely as a vehicle for themed collector series, a function enabled by a 1989 monetary agreement with New Zealand that allows the island — population under 2,000 — to issue legal tender without running an independent central bank. This piece is the second in a fifteen-part series reproducing Botticelli's Mystic Nativity, painted around 1500 and notable for being the only signed work in his entire catalog.
