| Reverse description | Color-printed reproduction of a detail from Sandro Botticelli's painting 'The Mystic Nativity' (c. 1500-1501), depicting a group of robed and garland-crowned figures, rendered in vivid polychrome inks applied to the coin's surface. The composition captures the characteristic flowing drapery and expressive figural style of Botticelli's late Florentine manner. This piece is the twelfth in a series of fifteen rectangular collector coins, each reproducing a different section of the complete painting. The reverse field is dominated entirely by the painted image with no additional inscriptions. |
