| Obverse description | The effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, rendered in fine relief after the portrait by Susan Taylor depicting the monarch at approximately 77 years of age. | Reverse description | The reverse features a bold bust-length portrait of Thayendanegea, the celebrated Mohawk military and political leader also known as Joseph Brant, facing slightly left in three-quarter view. He is depicted wearing traditional Haudenosaunee regalia, including an elaborate feathered headdress secured by a beaded headband, a decorative gorget suspended at the chest, a link chain, and a richly ornamented mantle. The engraving by William Woodruff captures fine ethnographic detail in the subject's attire and dignified expression. The legend CANADA DOLLAR arcs vertically along the left and right periphery respectively, with the date 2007 positioned in the lower left field and the engraver's initials LM appearing in the lower right field. |
