| 正面描述 | Third effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, after the portrait by Raphael David Maklouf, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The legend ELIZABETH II · COOK ISLANDS arcs above the effigy, while the inscription 1oz 999 SILVER · 2007 · ONE DOLLAR curves along the lower periphery, flanking a decorative divider. The effigy and lettering are rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof field. |

The Sydney Mint operated from 1855 to 1926, striking sovereigns for British imperial currency rather than as Australian national coinage — the colony, and later dominion, simply needed more gold coin than London could supply. Cook Islands has issued fantasy-denomination collector pieces under its own authority since the 1970s, a common arrangement whereby Pacific microstates license their issuing rights to private minting interests. This piece has no connection to either the Sydney Mint or any sovereign minting tradition beyond the name.
