Beschrijving keerzijde The rectangular reverse bears a full-colour reproduction of a medieval illuminated manuscript scene depicting two episodes from the Passion of Christ. The upper register shows Christ, haloed and crowned with thorns, being led through a crowd of figures in richly coloured robes, with a cross visible in the background. The lower register portrays Pontius Pilate standing at right beneath an architectural canopy, gesturing as he washes his hands before an assembled crowd that includes a bound Christ at centre. The color application employs a warm gold ground reminiscent of Byzantine iconography, with deep reds, blacks, and earth tones throughout the figural composition.
