| 表面の銘文 | QUEEN ELIZABETH II 1 DOLLAR TUVALU 2005 |
| 裏面の説明 | A highly detailed, raised silver depiction of a Supermarine Spitfire in flight dominates the center of the reverse, rendered in polished relief against a vivid full-color background. The colorized field portrays an aerial wartime scene featuring a patchwork landscape below, a darkened sky with contrails, and additional aircraft silhouettes in the distance, evoking the Battle of Britain. RAF roundel markings and squadron codes are visible on the Spitfire's fuselage and wings. The inscription SUPERMARINE SPITFIRE arcs along the lower border, with 1 OZ 999 SILVER appearing in a smaller legend above it near the lower center. The Perth Mint's P mintmark is present in the field. |

Part of the Perth Mint's ongoing colored commemorative program, this piece honors the Supermarine Spitfire — the aircraft that entered RAF service in 1938 and became inseparable from British memory of the Battle of Britain in 1940. The Spitfire's elliptical wing design, conceived by R.J. Mitchell before his death in 1937, gave it a maneuverability that pilots of opposing Messerschmitt Bf 109s had to account for at every engagement altitude.
The colored finish was applied after striking, a standard Perth Mint process for this commemorative series.
