Reverse description A large, naturalistically rendered snowflake crystal occupies the central field of the reverse, applied in vivid blue and white colorization that highlights its intricate six-branched dendritic structure with finely detailed sub-branches and terminal facets. The designer's initials MH appear to the lower right of the snowflake. The legend CANADA arcs along the lower left and 2006 DOLLAR along the lower right, all in raised Latin lettering against the mirrored proof field. The eleven-sided flan echoes the geometric precision of the snowflake motif.

Additional information

The Snowflake dollar was part of a broader push by the Royal Canadian Mint in the mid-2000s to expand its collectible coin program beyond traditional commemoratives, targeting gift and seasonal markets with limited-mintage issues sold direct to collectors. It never circulated.
