| Obverse description | The obverse bears the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Susanna Blunt, depicting the Queen facing right in a mature portrait at approximately 77 years of age, uncrowned, wearing a necklace and drop earrings. The legend arcs around the upper periphery reading ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA, with the denomination 1 DOLLAR inscribed below. The portrait is rendered in fine relief against a frosted field characteristic of proof coinage. |

| Reverse description | The reverse features a sculptural group of three overlapping sugar maple leaves on a shared stem, centrally positioned and rendered in high relief with finely detailed venation. Two of the three leaves are treated with selective gold plating, contrasting dramatically against the unplated lower leaf and the frosted silver field. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper periphery, while the date 2014 appears to the left and the fineness mark 9999 to the right in the mid-field. The bilingual inscription FINE SILVER 1/20 OZ ARGENT PUR curves along the lower periphery, with the engraver's initials AN visible in the lower right field. The rim is gold-plated, framing the entire design. |
