Obverse description The obverse bears the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, depicting the monarch in right-facing profile at approximately 77 years of age, uncrowned and unadorned save for a necklace and earrings. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a flat field, presenting a mature and dignified likeness consistent with the standard Canadian circulation portrait introduced in 2003. The legend ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA arcs along the upper periphery in Roman capitals, invoking the traditional Latin formula affirming her title as Queen by the Grace of God.
