Issued to mark the Sydney 2000 Olympics, this Solomon Islands dollar was part of a wave of Pacific-nation commemoratives that flooded the collector market in the late 1990s and early 2000s — many produced by overseas mints on contract, with little connection to domestic circulation. KM#66 was never intended for use on Honiara market stalls.
