Reverse description The reverse presents a detailed high-relief rendering of a section of the Sanssouci Palace facade in Potsdam, Germany, emphasizing the elaborate Rococo architectural ornamentation characteristic of Frederick the Great's summer residence. The composition features richly decorated arched windows with ornamental keystones and sculptural elements, including pairs of Rococo figural sculptures flanking a central arched recess inset with a green agate stone. Decorative balustrades and classical mouldings frame the scene, faithfully reproducing the exuberant sculptural vocabulary of mid-eighteenth-century Prussian Rococo architecture. The legend SANS SOUCI appears at the upper portion of the field, while ROCOCO ART is inscribed prominently at the lower portion within a scrolled cartouche.
