The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank issued this piece as part of a broader commemorative licensing arrangement — not as a circulating currency. Robert Falcon Scott reached the South Pole on January 17, 1912, only to find Roald Amundsen's tent already there. He and his four companions died on the return journey, roughly 11 miles short of a supply depot.
