| Reverse description | Central design features a colorfully enameled tropical coastal scene depicting palm trees, a beach, and a radiant sunrise rendered in greens, teals, and warm yellows. To the right, a high-relief silver portrait of a dreadlocked reggae musician — evoking the iconic image of Bob Marley — emerges from the field, contrasting with the vivid color inlay. A five-pointed star appears at lower left. The curved legend MUSIC IS MY LIFE arcs along the upper rim, and the word REGGAE is inscribed along the lower rim. |

Fiji's Reserve Bank issued this piece as part of a broader run of themed collector dollars that proliferated in the early 2010s — the kind of licensing-adjacent commemorative program that central banks in small Pacific nations used to generate numismatic revenue well in excess of face value. The reggae designation ties it loosely to a global music series circulating across multiple issuing authorities simultaneously, with identical or near-identical specifications appearing under different sovereign names.
Silver-plated copper-nickel was the workhorse composition for this entire category of issues. Collector rather than circulating from the outset.
