Obverse description The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, a right-facing draped and crowned bust by Raphael David Maklouf, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished proof field. The Queen is depicted wearing the George IV State Diadem and a pearl necklace with a drop earring, with fine detail in the hair and fabric. The legend QUEEN ELIZABETH II arcs above along the left and upper border, with TUVALU continuing to the right. The lower portion of the field bears the inscriptions 1oz 999 SILVER to the left, ONE DOLLAR to the right, and the date 2009 at the base.
