| Obverse description | The obverse features the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted in right-facing profile as a mature, crowned bust. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a polished field, with the engraver's initials 'IRB' visible below the truncation and the mint mark 'mw' to the right. The legend 'ELIZABETH II' arcs along the upper left periphery and 'NIUE ISLAND' along the upper right, separated by the portrait.
