Reverse description A fully open poppy blossom is centrally depicted, superimposed upon a stylized maple leaf, with a ribbon of remembrance incorporated into the design. The commemorative inscription '1918 ARMISTICE 2008' appears within the composition, marking the 90th anniversary of the Armistice ending the First World War. The legends CANADA, DOLLAR, REMEMBER, and SOUVENIR are distributed around the design field, the latter two references serving as bilingual tributes to fallen soldiers. The reverse was engraved by Stan Witten.
