| Obverse description | The quartered coat of arms of Niue occupies the central field, surmounted by a St. Edward's Crown. The shield is divided into four quarters depicting four stars of the Southern Cross, three sailing vessels, a coconut palm, and crossed hammer and pick, all rendered in fine relief against a polished field. Flanking the shield are two silver fern fronds serving as supporters. The country name NIUE arcs along the upper legend at left and the date 2002 appears at right. |
