Reverse description The reverse of this oval colored proof coin depicts the celebrated Peter the Great Imperial Fabergé Egg of 1903 in vivid full-color relief at the centre of the field. The egg is rendered in rich gold tones, lavishly decorated with rococo acanthus scrollwork, diamond-set swags, and ruby cabochon accents, enclosing a painted miniature of a palatial estate set within a heart-shaped reserve. A prancing horse figure in silver tone appears at the base of the egg, referencing the equestrian surprise contained within the original jewel. The background field displays stylized silver foliate motifs on a mirror-polished surface, and a dark ornamental cartouche at the top bears the inscription IMPERIAL FABERGÉ EGGS in white lettering.
