Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse displays a full-color photographic-style image of a longhaired Persian kitten with a tortoiseshell coat reclining in the lower field, its striking green crystal eyes adding a three-dimensional decorative element. To the upper right, a black-toned cameo relief portrait of a Persian cat's face is set into the mirror-polished field, surrounded by multiple embossed paw print motifs scattered across the background. A silver ball of yarn is depicted in the lower right, complementing the feline theme. The bilingual inscription PERSIAN CAT / KOT PERSKI appears along the right rim in Latin script.

Aanvullende informatie

Niue's numismatic program has, since the late 1990s, operated essentially as a revenue instrument for the island's government, licensing its sovereign coinage rights to external minting operations — primarily the Perth Mint and New Zealand's Mayer Mint — to produce collectibles with negligible circulating intent. The Persian Cat dollar belongs to a broader feline series targeting the dedicated animal-themed collector market, where secondary market premiums depend almost entirely on mintage caps set contractually between Niue and the issuing mint, not on any monetary function.

Mintage for individual issues in this series was typically held below 5,000 pieces, a figure calculated to sustain collector demand rather than reflect any issuing-country requirement.
