Reverse description The reverse commemorates the centennial of Parks Canada (1911–2011) and depicts a richly detailed wilderness scene engraved by Marcos Hallam. A large bison dominates the upper central field, its head lowered prominently against a deeply recessed background. Selectively gold-plated coniferous trees flank a wading great blue heron at centre, while additional wildlife including birds in flight appear in the lower right field, rendered in polished silver relief. Foliage and natural elements fill the lower field, with the commemorative dates 1911–2011 inscribed along the lower border and the legend CANADA DOLLAR arcing along the upper field, all within a dentilated rim.
