| Reverse description | The reverse presents a richly detailed scene commemorating Palanga, the Lithuanian seaside resort. At centre, a graceful nude female figure — evoking the legendary Egle, Queen of Serpents, or a personification of the Baltic Sea — reclines dynamically amid stylized waves rendered in fine relief along the lower field. Flanking her in the background are architectural elevations of the Tiškevičiai Palace and an adjacent neoclassical building, engraved in precise detail against a deeply mirrored proof field. At the lower centre, a genuine Baltic amber cabochon is inset into the coin, bearing a miniature gold-coloured portrait cameo in relief. A three-pointed crown appears above the central figure at the upper field, and the city name PALANGA is inscribed in spaced capitals along the upper arc, all within a plain raised border. |
