Reverse description The reverse commemorates Operation Garden, the ground component of Operation Market Garden, fought 17–25 September 1944. The design features a bold gold-highlighted inscription OPERATION GARDEN dominating the upper field, with the dates 17-25TH SEPTEMBER and the year 1944 rendered prominently in gold selective plating. In the background, a detailed depiction of the Arnhem road bridge spans the upper register. In the lower field, a Sherman tank advances to the left, flanked by silhouettes of Allied infantry soldiers. The place name ARNHEM appears along the lower periphery, and the denomination 1 DOLLAR is inscribed to the left.
