Reverse description Full-color reproduction of Raphael's fresco depicting the Building of Noah's Ark, sourced from the Logge di Raffaello in the Vatican Palace, presented as a central rectangular vignette with applied color printing. The scene portrays Noah, depicted as a white-bearded elder draped in white and red robes, overseeing workers who labor vigorously with tools amid the rising timber framework of the Ark, set against a distant landscape. The color panel is enclosed within an elaborately engraved ornamental silver border featuring scrollwork, foliate acanthus motifs, beaded framing lines, and a decorative cartouche at the top center of the surround.

Additional information

Niue has issued bullion and collectible coinage under licensing agreements since the 1970s, effectively renting its monetary authority to foreign minting operations — in this case, the Geiger Edelmetalle program, which produces the Noah's Ark series out of Germany. The coins circulate nowhere and are bought nowhere as currency; they exist entirely as silver vehicles dressed in legal-tender clothing.

The 14.14g weight corresponds to approximately half a troy ounce, placing this squarely in the fractional bullion tier.
