背面描述 Aerial depiction of the Gosses Bluff meteorite impact crater, rendered in high relief with fine engraved detail capturing the circular rimmed structure and surrounding arid landscape of the Northern Territory, Australia. An authentic fragment of Henbury meteorite is inset into the coin's surface, serving as the central design element and providing tactile authenticity. The legend METEORITE CRATER GOSSES BLUFF arcs across the upper field in bold raised lettering.

附加信息

Gosses Bluff, known to the Western Aranda people as Tnorala, is the eroded remnant of an impact crater formed roughly 142 million years ago in what is now the Northern Territory of Australia. The structure visible today is not the original crater rim but the central uplift — the true impact scar, once some 22 kilometers across, has been largely stripped away by erosion over geological time.

The Henbury insert comes from a strewn field some 130 kilometers southwest of Alice Springs, where a cluster of iron meteorites struck perhaps 4,200 years ago — well within the span of Aboriginal occupation of the region.
